The emblem of the Academy is a composite depiction of two rifles, two swords, a cannon barrel and a shell, symbolizing the historical weapons of the Hellenic Army (Infantry, Armor and Artillery). This composition is framed with the year the Academy was founded (1828), with two laurel branches and the emblem of the Hellenic Republic. The epigram of the emblem is the phrase of the wise man of ancient Athens, Solon, “ARCHESTHAI MATHON ARCHEIN EPISTISEI” (“In order to be able to lead, you need to learn first how to be led”), which indicates the basic purpose of the education of the Cadets and reminds them of the value of discipline.
